Schools

We are proud of our plans to build elementary schools connected to the neighborhoods of which they are a part. By looking at schools as civic connectors instead of setting them apart from the community, Roseland will bring a new era of active neighborhood involvement in the teaching of our children.
We will do this by working directly with Chesterfield County on determining programming needs of today's children. Elements include accessibility, indoor air quality, space requirements, pick-up and drop-off points, and so on.
We will add to that list of issues the community goals of providing iconic architecture, shared park and playground spaces that are available even when school is not in session, and safe but out of the way bus loading areas. These are all important elements of making a school fit into its surroundings of a great neighborhood.
Then we will put our architects to work on creating the best neighborhood school in the region. Children will once again have the ability to walk to school. Parents will have a connecting place to catch up with each other as they pick up and drop off kids, without cars. Most importantly, the children's educational experience is enhanced simply by the relationship that the school has to its surroundings.
Chesterfield County schools are among the best in Virginia. In Roseland, they are about to get even better!
